it might be helpful to know which error you see!? Anyway from the vmware.log file you attached it looks like you accepted the Converter's defaults regarding the virtual disk controller. For Windows 7 ensure you select the "LSI Logic SAS" controller under "Devices" in the Converter Wizard.
