BTW, found via Google, and only FYI, here is a very interesting discussion about Quartz Extreme support in VMware:
... where there is also a VMsvga2 beta 1.3.0 driver available; they talk about Workstation, but it should be relevant also for Fusion.
(Of course, virtualising OS X (Server) on Workstation isn't strictly "legal", but that project is quite useful, nevertheless; anyway, of course, feel free to remove the link, if considered not pertinent to this discussion...)
